Suggestions for podchat discussion

Scoop and I have recently discussed starting up the podchat again, as we both miss it, and a few listeners have mentioned that they miss it, too. Our only problem is that we don’t know what to talk about!

Please leave your suggestions here for suitable podchat topics. :) Thanks!

Otalia: The End

Otalia: The End

“And now the end is near… so I face the final curtain…”

Indeed. We are now at the end of the long road of Otalia, and we decided to do a podchat about it. We’ve been a bit rubbish with the pods lately, haven’t we? Unfortunately we’ve both been busy with various social, personal and professional commitments, and just haven’t had the time to get our heads together and record anything. Sorry! :(

But we have sat down and recorded our final Otalia podchat, which features a lot of the remixes, jingles and other bits and pieces you will have heard over the course of the past six months. We sound a bit low at the start of the pod, but stick with it as things do brighten up in the middle and towards the end. :)

This is the environmentally-friendly, not tested on animals, awesome washing stuff that Scoop refers to in the pod: Green Force! Sounds like some sort of comic book hero sent to save the planet. :D

It’s the end of an era, but it’s been a good one. We’ll be back, but we won’t be discussing Otalia next time. We’re looking for ideas on what we should cover next, so please come back to us with some suggestions! You had better do… as we have no effing clue.

Thanks everyone for listening and, as always, please leave us your comments here, on Twitter or anywhere, really! It’s been a blast. We appreciate each and every one of the people who has listened. ♥

Live again this weekend!

We were away at the Team UK meet up last weekend, and this weekend Scoop’s laptop is out of commission and no pod-editing can occur! So it’s another live pod, but this time with episode discussion like the usual pre-recorded pod. We will take questions from the chatroom and possibly take calls towards the end if we have time.

The live podchat will take place at 10pm UK time on Sunday 30th August 2009! If you need to work out when that is in your locality, check out http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Registration

You can now register for a Brit Girls Do account at:

http://www.britgirlsdo.com/wp/wp-login.php?action=register

For the time being, all this will mean is that you can stay logged in to the site and won’t have to re-type your details when leaving comments, but in the future, we may add consider adding new content for registered members, so keep your eye on that!

A couple of people have also asked how we get a little picture next to our names on the comments section. Those are Gravatars, which are globally-recognised avatars. You can upload your own Gravatar at http://www.gravatar.com/ and as long as you register with the same email address as you use for your comments on other sites, your Gravatar should show up.

Our second live pod last night

Well we did another live podchat last night, which was great fun. We took calls from Xan, Shaych, Zenobia who was with Team USA New England, Kayden411, Destini who was with Team USA Pacific North West (and Team USA North East on video feed, plus some other teams whose names I couldn’t hear — sorry!), otaliafanDC, maraleia, badgersprite, AliCat and unlessstated! It was great to hear from you all!

We had a couple of technical difficulties towards the end, when the sound disappeared for a minute or two, but keep listening as it does come back. You can listen to the recording of the podchat here:

Or you can download it from the BlogTalkRadio website here:

Thanks to everyone who listened and called in! :)

We’re doing it live… again!

This weekend there won’t be a pre-recorded podchat, as Scoop is going camping and won’t have time to do the usual editing, which is quite time-consuming.

So we’re having a live call-in for 90 minutes, where you’ll be able to phone us for a chat live on air! We’d love to hear from you. You can talk to us about Otalia, food, UK/US differences, anything you like — totally uncensored with no holds barred. Speak your mind!

The live podchat will take place at 10pm UK time tomorrow night, Saturday 15 August 2009! Give us a call! :) If you need to work out when that is in your locality, check out http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

Notalia: August 3rd-7th

Notalia: August 3rd-7th

OMG! A NOTALIA week! :( The first one since the pod started. Whatever will we do?

Well. Listen and ye shall discover. The above image may give you a vague idea, but probably not. This week we had a random pod, discussed Otalia spoilers (after the spoiler warning, skip to 0:54:14 to avoid spoilers, which is when we start talking about the Spice Girls. Then at 1:01:26 the spoilers start again, until 1:07:00. So consider yourselves warned if you’re spoiler-free! (And if you are, I have the utmost respect for you as I have no idea how you managed it!)

You MAY also get Scoop’s extended northern version of Only Love in this pod. ;) But again, you’ll have to listen and see… oh and we did some impromptu FUCBS jingles, which were terrible.

Some links to stuff we talked about in the podchat this week:

Wooooooo! What a random pod this week. Hope you like it and thanks for listening! Please comment with questions, suggestions, observations, deliberations, cogitations… and yes, I am starting to sound like Loyd Grossman now! :)

Otalia: July 27th-July 31st

Otalia: July 27th-July 31st

We’re back a little later than scheduled, though we recorded the podchat on Saturday afternoon. It’s just taken us a couple of days to get it online! :)

This week we have a shorter podchat than usual, with some spoiler discussion after the episode talk, though we do give a spoiler warning. If you want to skip ahead when we start discussing spoilers, just skip forward to 39 minutes which is when the spoiler discussion ends.

We have a new remixed US advert (commercial) this week as well. :)

Thanks for listening and please remember to comment! We love hearing from you guys. Let us know if you have any questions… and we’ll be back soon!

Otalia: July 6th-July 24th

We’re back after a 3-week hiatus! Sorry about that. Listen to Cloogle’s hiatus message if you haven’t already. It’s in the blog post below this one. :)

Scoop refers to fish, chips, mushy peas, gravy and “pudding” in the pod, so check out the photo. I refer to a pattie, but with it being very specific to my region, I couldn’t find a decent photo online. Check out Urban Dictionary or Wikipedia for some info, though.

Errrr… yes. We did talk about food for a while.

We have some questions for you in the pod, so get listening and commenting! We need suggestions for a new jingle. It’s sort of like a contest, with the prize being your suggestion used in the jingle (obviously!) — so come onnnnnn!

Thanks for listening, and remember to leave your comments or email us. You can also tweet us @britgirlsdo on Twitter. You guys rock our socks!

Hiatus

Hiatus

This public service announcement is brought to you today by the voice talents of Cloogle (aka Claire, aka Bonnie’s other half, aka “that girl who likes to do accents”) and the remixing talents of Scoop.

Who can identify all of the different accents she’s attempting?

We’ll catch up with you soon.
